Ohio Real Estate License Exam Preparation

The Ohio real estate salesperson exam has 120 multiple-choice questions: 80 national questions (120 minutes) and 40 Ohio-specific questions (60 minutes), for 180 minutes total.

You must score 70% on each portion of the Ohio exam independently - both the national section and the Ohio state section. Passing one portion does not offset a failing score on the other.

The Ohio real estate salesperson exam fee is $63, paid to PSI. The license application fee to the Ohio Division of Real Estate & Professional Licensing is $81.

Ohio requires 120 hours of pre-licensing education: Real Estate Principles and Practices (40 hours), Ohio Real Estate Law (40 hours), Real Estate Appraisal (20 hours), and Real Estate Finance (20 hours).

PSI Services administers the Ohio real estate exam on behalf of the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing. Ohio also offers a remote online proctored option through PSI, so you can take the exam from home.

If you fail one portion of the Ohio exam, you only need to retake the portion you failed. Each retake attempt costs $63, and you apply for the retake through the Ohio Division of Real Estate.

After the Ohio Division of Real Estate approves your Salesperson Examination Application (with the $81 fee and proof of your 120 hours of education), PSI sends you eligibility information and you schedule at candidate.psiexams.com - either at a testing center or via remote online proctoring.

The 40-question Ohio state portion covers Ohio license law, state regulations, property law, contracts, agency relationships, and disclosure requirements.
